technological breakthru

Today we have so much technology and so many ways to communicate with one another. We have the internet and on the internet is the main addiction when it comes to communicating. Theres facebook, ,myspace (which is dead), twitter (which is for stockers in my opinion), FML, and a bunch omore social networks. Theres also aim, skype, and offline on your cellphone you have texting. Is this good or bad? I would say that it is good because it helps us stay connected with the world in a way, keeps us up to date with whats going on whether its important or not. I would  lean towards it being mostly very bad. 1, you meet new people yes, but you can never know the persons intenttions, sure you can say avoid them but there are alot of gullible people that trust anyone because they dont want to be mean. 2, all these forms of communication distracts us way too much, I can remember back to a couple of times when I was talking to someone and they either interupt me because of a text message they got, or they weren't listening to what I was saying. 3, most of us when finally we have spare time, instead of going outside and exercising or doing something active, they become lazy and that can be very tiring and depressing to some point. One can argue that its good, but in my opinion its mostly bad.

Education for all

I believe that education is definitly out there in the open, especially now with easy acces to community colleges that can eventually get one into state or university. The essay I chose to write is about how education sort of puts us into a strict state of mind of believing that education is the only way to success. The role of education is said to prepare us for the real world, but what if one does not wish to pursue a career and instead take a regular 40 hours a week job, then all that education was somewhat of a waste of time. Education is good because we learn, but anyone can learn by reading a book, doing research, basic experience and experimentation. So I would argue that the role of education definitly has some flaws in the sense that its not giving one much freedom because if you dont have a dimploma otherwise known as a paper that says your not stupid then you cant get a job based on your interest.

Getting an education shouldnt cost a shitload.

Compared to many I have been pretty lucky as to be able to pay for my classes and books specifically because I recieve financial aid, but I just recently got financial aid. With these cuts to higher education, it became alot harder to meet the deadline to pay for the classes people need to take. When I started attending foothill in the fall I chose 3 classes and the cost of those classes were about 400 not including the books I would have to buy which would cost I think 250 and not to forget the entry fee and all that rubbish. I had to borrow money from my parents and they baraly had any to give me. I managed to pay for the classes before they dropped me and bought the books half of the second week in, by then I was already a bit behind. Not to mention that these cuts are also affecting the size of the classes, now classes are filled with students, not 20 but 30. And it is harder to keep everyone in check because teachers must move on quick in order to get the information across and there is less 1 on 1 because there are too many students for 1 teachers to concentrate there effort on and as a result some end up not doing well. These cuts are affecting our education, we are the future, the ones to come up with the solution to the problems many face today, and the one way we could do that is if we stop these cuts and improve the education for us as students to succeed and help this country with our ideas.

Me Myself and stuff

Hello citizens..and non citizens, My name is Jesus, I am a 19 year old guy, I am a laid back person with a good sense of humor. I am currently attending foothill community college, my first year and currently my 3rd quarter. I have taken interest in psychology and mainly psychobiology aka biopsychology. Biopsychology is basically biology and psychology combined, its how the brain affects us through our body, example if one is always depressed then they will feel weak and tired. The reason I took interest in psychology in the first place is because friends and people would always come to me for help or advice and I have been told im a pretty good listener. And not just that but I have always been interested in how the mind works and why we do the things we do. Now im also interested in biopsychology just because it sounds interesting. I made this blog specifically because its part of my english 110 class, intro to writting. This will hopefully help me improve my writting skills and knowledge by getting feedback on certain topics I write. What I am hoping to gain from my english class are skills that can allow me to write well understood essays because when it comes to writting 6 or more pages of something I tend to just blabber around nonsense because I lose ideas.
