First off in this video they talk about how they preffer local food because they like helping around their community and they get to meet new people and its fresh and healthy. Second of all, all the speakers were women and old peopl buying at the food market. The old people like it because they get lonely and they get to walk around and talk to people, I doubt they care if its healthy or not, much rather use it as an excuse. I do however agree that people have the choice to buy and eat what they want. Its there life so they shouldn't deicede whats good for others, just for themselves.

enviornment and food
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTu_afGzVJg
in his talk he discussesabout how its getting hotter every year and how this heat might affect the growth of the food that is grown. First of I want to point out that the earths temperature changes all the time, the only reason we see it get hotter is because now we have technology to actually measure the temperature unlike back in the day were we werent sure what the difference was. Second he didnt really explain how it might affect it.

This guy talks about how we are the ones to make a difference in what we eat. If one person, the president, does not make that change than its up to us to make that change. I thought his talk was rather interesting and I do like how he is preffereing to move forward rather then to move back. And by that I mean that he doesn't think of getting rid of packaged food and such but rather get people to eat more healthy. And I think that is the right thing because we already know whats healthy but we eat whats cheaper and tastes better. If we can get it in our heads to eat healthier then maybe we just will and prices of healthier foods will go down in a way.

Genetically modifed food
http://www.ucsusa.org/food_and_agriculture/science_and_impacts/impacts_genetic_engineering/environmental-effects-of.html
I have always heard about genetically modified food having chemicals added to it so it has more nutrition to it and thats a bad thing. And that its better to get organic food because its more natural and even MORE healthier then the genetically modified food. So who shouldI believe? we have had genetically modiefied food for years and not once have I heard someone dying of that food they eat, nor have I heard someone die of organic food. If their is no evidence against genetically modified food being poisonis then I believe its up to the peopl to decided which one is better and or which they want. cased closed.

MLK
I feel like he specificly wrote this letter for everyone but sent it to people who would maybe find it interesting to read what he had to say. Sort of just start small and end big because eventually the word would spread of what he had to say. And also because a preist would see tend to think, "what would jesus do" and people with higher authority & or maybe a different mindset might give it a second chance. So he sent it to the people who would maybe be a little more open minded and they would speak and people would listen because people only listen to people who they feel have a higher authority or fit in a specific strong group.

Journalist people
I really do dislike the amount of journalist there are in today’s world. Just like the internet, they spread lies and bring attention to things that don’t matter to the public yet we all read them anyways. I hate how journalist now a days focus too much on celebrities life, I like there music and or acting skills but I don’t care that she chose the wrong dress or that his hair style does not match his facial structure. Just today I got on yahoo to check my mail and there’s an article about Serena Williams being criticized for putting a picture online, quite frankly I don’t give a damn. The media on the internet is the worst, since almost everyone has access to the internet, journalist take advantage of the amount of potential readers and put anything that might get attention. They should stick to the important things like maybe corruption in our and others government and all the things that matter and that are not rubbish.

tech effect
Today we have so many different sources to chose from thanks to the internet websites. Google the search engine can help you find just what you are lookinig for but with great browsing comes great responsibilities. Sure there are alot of good things posted on the internet but theres also people that just like spreading lies. Lies that eventually get notice and are the main highlights. Also social networking can help a bit too such as facebook, if you have a friend on facebook that attends the same class as you then you can ask what you missed. Or they might know better sources for things you might want to know. The internet has a big impact on the things we do, we rely on it for emails from work, school and family. We use it to check are bank accounts, entertainment, to find the nearest restaurant and so forth. Ive been told that back in the day everyone would go to the library and do there homework there looking for books to write there essays and no one relied on the internet. We have become to dependant on the internet and thats not good because it serves as a shortcut and its making us lazy...in my opinion.

Editorial writting
No I do not believe that an editiorial writting in a newspaper or magazine makes it credible. An editorial from what I understand is a writting that follows a specific format. Also on the newspaper anyone can add there opinion and back it up with sources but it does not mean its absoulutly true. The news is always trying to come up with big stories to get more viewers and become a well known tv news channel. Same goes with magazines only not so much in your face I believe because its written and not many tend to challenge what they read, its more like whatever.

technological breakthru
Today we have so much technology and so many ways to communicate with one another. We have the internet and on the internet is the main addiction when it comes to communicating. Theres facebook, ,myspace (which is dead), twitter (which is for stockers in my opinion), FML, and a bunch omore social networks. Theres also aim, skype, and offline on your cellphone you have texting. Is this good or bad? I would say that it is good because it helps us stay connected with the world in a way, keeps us up to date with whats going on whether its important or not. I would lean towards it being mostly very bad. 1, you meet new people yes, but you can never know the persons intenttions, sure you can say avoid them but there are alot of gullible people that trust anyone because they dont want to be mean. 2, all these forms of communication distracts us way too much, I can remember back to a couple of times when I was talking to someone and they either interupt me because of a text message they got, or they weren't listening to what I was saying. 3, most of us when finally we have spare time, instead of going outside and exercising or doing something active, they become lazy and that can be very tiring and depressing to some point. One can argue that its good, but in my opinion its mostly bad.

Education for all
I believe that education is definitly out there in the open, especially now with easy acces to community colleges that can eventually get one into state or university. The essay I chose to write is about how education sort of puts us into a strict state of mind of believing that education is the only way to success. The role of education is said to prepare us for the real world, but what if one does not wish to pursue a career and instead take a regular 40 hours a week job, then all that education was somewhat of a waste of time. Education is good because we learn, but anyone can learn by reading a book, doing research, basic experience and experimentation. So I would argue that the role of education definitly has some flaws in the sense that its not giving one much freedom because if you dont have a dimploma otherwise known as a paper that says your not stupid then you cant get a job based on your interest.

Getting an education shouldnt cost a shitload.
Compared to many I have been pretty lucky as to be able to pay for my classes and books specifically because I recieve financial aid, but I just recently got financial aid. With these cuts to higher education, it became alot harder to meet the deadline to pay for the classes people need to take. When I started attending foothill in the fall I chose 3 classes and the cost of those classes were about 400 not including the books I would have to buy which would cost I think 250 and not to forget the entry fee and all that rubbish. I had to borrow money from my parents and they baraly had any to give me. I managed to pay for the classes before they dropped me and bought the books half of the second week in, by then I was already a bit behind. Not to mention that these cuts are also affecting the size of the classes, now classes are filled with students, not 20 but 30. And it is harder to keep everyone in check because teachers must move on quick in order to get the information across and there is less 1 on 1 because there are too many students for 1 teachers to concentrate there effort on and as a result some end up not doing well. These cuts are affecting our education, we are the future, the ones to come up with the solution to the problems many face today, and the one way we could do that is if we stop these cuts and improve the education for us as students to succeed and help this country with our ideas.

Me Myself and stuff
Hello citizens..and non citizens, My name is Jesus, I am a 19 year old guy, I am a laid back person with a good sense of humor. I am currently attending foothill community college, my first year and currently my 3rd quarter. I have taken interest in psychology and mainly psychobiology aka biopsychology. Biopsychology is basically biology and psychology combined, its how the brain affects us through our body, example if one is always depressed then they will feel weak and tired. The reason I took interest in psychology in the first place is because friends and people would always come to me for help or advice and I have been told im a pretty good listener. And not just that but I have always been interested in how the mind works and why we do the things we do. Now im also interested in biopsychology just because it sounds interesting. I made this blog specifically because its part of my english 110 class, intro to writting. This will hopefully help me improve my writting skills and knowledge by getting feedback on certain topics I write. What I am hoping to gain from my english class are skills that can allow me to write well understood essays because when it comes to writting 6 or more pages of something I tend to just blabber around nonsense because I lose ideas.
